Hello comfort food!
I just want to cuddle up with a bowl of this now the weather is starting to take a turn. It's warming, it tastes so great and will only take about 15 minutes to make. It's perfect for a simple midweek dinner when you're running out of ideas, patience and energy. Lightly crispy tofu drenched in a tangy sweet sauce, what more do you want from life?
1 pack firm tofu
2 tablespoons coconut oil 1/4 cup tahini 1/2 tsp chilli flakes 1/2 tbsp sriracha 1 tablespoon tamari 1 tablespoon maple syrup 1 teaspoon rice wine vinegar 2 crushed garlic cloves 1/2 tablespoon grated ginger 4 tablespoons water
1. Press the tofu for at least an 1-2 hours 2. Mix all the ingredients minus the tofu together in a bowl 3. Fry the tofu in a frying pan over a medium heat with a little coconut oil 4. After around 5-10 minutes, add the sauce and continue to heat for a further 5-10 minutes
5. Serve! (It's perfect served over brown rice with steamed green vegetables and sesame seeds and spring onions)
See, tofu isn't boring!
