Gingerbread Smoothie

It's holiday time so thought I'd share this irresistible gingerbread smoothie that is sure to put you in the festive mood. It's sweet and creamy with a hint of spice and all things nice. It's completely gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan-friendly too!

 

 

Healthy Gingerbread Christmas Smoothie!

 

 

The combination of flavours is a little bit special. You get a hint of banana, a little wave of vanilla and then pow that subtle spice comes through.

 

For the proper authentic gingerbread flavour the use molasses instead of maple syrup! I'm a mere amateur and forgot to pick up molasses when I went shopping so do forgive me. But remember... it's Christmas so that's my excuse.

 

 

 

Ingredients

250ml unsweetened almond milk or whatever milk you like!

1/4 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp ground ginger

1/4 tsp nutmeg

1/4 tsp ground mixed spice

2 crushed cardamom pods

1-2 tbsps maple syrup (molasses are best though for that authentic flavour)

1-2 small frozen bananas chopped up

 

Method

Put all those ingredients into a smoothie maker and let the magic happen.

Keep your eyes peeled (excuse the pun) for any lumpy banana!

Then drink it up and weep with joy at the mere taste of this complete and utter Christmas miracle. 

 

 

I will definitely be whizzing up one of these on Christmas morning. That and a trough full of mince pies. 

Y'know, it's all about balance.
