Restaurant Review: Prague's Lehká Hlava

Taking trips abroad with irreplaceable friends is most definitely one of the finer things in life!

I plan to make a habit out of it.

Recently I travelled to Prague with one of my best friends and we had yet another wonderful trip. The sights, the culture, the adventures and last but not least, the food!

Of course, I HAD to find somewhere super healthy for us to dine. We both knew it was time for a reprieve from all the heavy (yet tasty!) Czech cuisine. We had stuffed ourselves full of meat and potatoes and by the third day, we desperately needed something different.

Tucked away down a hidden quaint side-street, we discovered Lehká Hlava (which directly translates to 'clear head') and it most definitely is a place where you can clear your head and escape the hustle and bustle of beautiful Prague.

From the outside, it is easily missable and doesn't look like anything special. However, keep your eyes peeled and hunt it down, I promise you it's worth it!

I was convinced I'd stepped into Narnia.

The main rooms are all decorated with a different style and they were all designed by local artists. Apparently the most popular room was the one we were luckily seated in, called heaven. As you can see by the photo above, it has been very aptly named. Stars adorned the ceiling conjuring up images of the night sky, soft lights surrounded the room and the curves of the walls created such an unusual space that gave an enchanting and relaxing feel to the place.

A relaxed atmosphere and two rooms wonderfully decorated from top to bottom. The space was beautiful, but what about the food?

Homemade drinks, wholesome main meals and unforgettable desserts.

We loved it!

The range of choices this restaurant offers is second to none. The food is bursting with authentic flavours and the emphasis is on healthy freshly-prepared vegetarian and vegan dishes. Being a meat-eater who sometimes finds vegetarian restaurants unappealing, this one most definitely changed my mind with it's imaginative selection.

From where we were seated, we had a great view of the open-plan kitchen so could see our food being freshly prepared.

I feasted upon the delicious raw cucumber spaghetti with avocado pesto and oh my, it was out of this world. The flavours complemented each other perfectly and it didn't sit heavy at all. Forget Corguetti, it's all about the Cucumbetti (that's not a thing but I've now made it a thing so just go with it!)

Every mouthful felt like a treat. Cashew nuts, goji berries, sundried tomatoes, sesame seeds...

To drink, I had a beetroot juice which was sweet, fresh and delicate. I also had a purified water that was purified and activated to eliminate toxins, increase immunity and promote self-healing processes of the body (an ancient Japanese technique!)

For dessert I had the most incredible rice pancakes filled with apple and poppy seed and drizzled with maple syrup. As you can see by my face below, I kind of fell in love with them.

Everything about Lehká Hlava inspires positivity. It's more than a restaurant. Their ethos and beliefs about healthy food are so inspiring and the only sad thought that crossed my mind as we left was the fact that it wasn't a little bit closer! So much thought has gone into this restaurant and you can tell how much they care about providing customers with fresh top-quality food.

So if you ever find yourself in the enchanting city of Praha, then deviate off the beaten path and step into Lehká Hlava and let it breathe new life into you.
