Watermelon Slushie
Summer isn't over yet... Is it? Yes it's starting to get cold, nights are drawing in and it's raining outside but I refuse to let it go anytime soon.
Now let's turn up the heating, put some suncream on and pretend we're on a tropical island soaking up the sun. This watermelon slushy is the ultimate refreshing treat to cool you down when you realise you've turned the heating up too high.
Watermelon. Delicious, refreshing and oh so sweet. But is it any good for you?
Well it's 92% water making it a great way to hydrate. It's high in lots of nutrients such as Vitamin C, carotenoids, potassium and lycopene. So it has anti-inflammatory and heart-healthy components!
Ingredients
1 small frozen watermelon
1/2 cup lime or lemon juice
1 tbsp coconut sugar or date syrup
Large handful of fresh basil
Frozen strawberries (optional)
Method
Blitz together in a blender and serve immediately!
